Christopher Ladas

November 22, 1930 ~ January 21, 2016 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 25th at 11:00am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for  Christopher Ladas, 85, of Youngstown, who passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 peacefully at his residence.
Chris was born November 22, 1930, son of Lazarus and Zoi Nymbriotis Ladas.
Chris served in the United States Air Force for 22 years before settling back to Youngstown. Once he returned he worked with the Mahoning County sheriff's department for 22 years before retiring as captain. He continued his work with the sheriffs department until 2013 volunteering with reserves. He also worked as a real estate agent.
Christopher was a long time member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, the Eastern Orthodox Men's Society, he was also the past president of the parish council with his church. He belonged to the F.O.P Lodge #141 and was instrumental with the building of the new county jail.
Surviving are his wife, Sophia "Sue" (Savas) Ladas, whom he married in 1963, a son; Jim Ladas of Washington State, two daughters; Joy Kish of Boardman and Julie (John) Beshara of Boardman, a sister; Anastasia "Sia" Contos of Akron. Grandchildren; Desiree Gabriel, Christen (Anthony) Kladitis, Lindsay (Tony) Velez, Stephanie Joaquin, Carolyn Ladas, Nicholas Ladas, Taylor Beshara, Emily Beshara; Great-Grandchildren; Isabella Kladitis, and Carmen Kladitis.
he was preceded in death by his parents, a step father Petros Pappas, Sister Georgia Zidian and great grandson Anthony Kladitis.

Friends will be received on Sunday, January 24th from 2:00 to 5:00pm with a Trisagion Service at 4:00pm at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral home, Inc. and on Monday, January 25th from 10:30 to 11:00am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
The family would like to thank his caregivers at Hospice; Irene, Riquel and Carol.
