Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 29, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Chris Wooley officiating, at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home Inc., for Gerald F. “Jerry” Hudak, 80, who passed away on Wednesday at his residence, with his family by his side.
He was born July 11, 1934, in Youngstown, son of Joseph Hudak and Vera Howell.
He was a graduate of East High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a craneman at United Engineering Co. in Youngstown before retiring in 1991. He was a member at the V.F.W. in Struthers and Amvets post No. 44 in Youngstown. Jerry enjoyed visiting flea markets, working on cars and playing practical jokes on friends and family. Jerry will always be remembered for his generosity and kindness.
Surviving are his ex-wife, Regina Hudak of Youngstown; twin sister, Geraldine La Volpe of Boardman; one son, Daniel Smith of Boardman; four daughters, Mary Ann (Joe) Precurato of Youngstown, Tammy Hamner of Austintown, Lori (Pat) D’Agostino of Cleveland and Donna (John) Lee of Youngstown; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Jerry also leaves a companion, Bev Hogan of Youngstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joseph; and a daughter, Sherry.
Friends will be received Saturday, March 28, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home Inc., Youngstown.
