Mary V. (Balog) Dellesky 97, passed from this life peacefully on Monday November 7, 2016, at The Inn at Christine Valley, where she resided for the past several years. Mary was born on June 29, 1919 in Girard, Ohio, the daughter of the late Stephen and Rose Balog.
Mary and her husband, the late Ted Dellesky Sr., were marred for 58 years and resided in Girard where she was a homemaker. She was a former parishioner of St. Rose Church. Mary, who was fondly referred to as “Grandma D” and “The Grandmaster,” enjoyed time with her family, especially Sunday dinners at her daughter’s home. Mary enjoyed traveling, and was active for many years with the Girard Seniors and the Ladies Eagles Auxillary where she held office.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Ret. Lt. Col., Mary Ann Dellesky of Seminole , Florida, Gloria Cellio of Youngstown, Rosemarie Olesky of Cary, North Carolina, and daughter-in-law Barbara Dellesky of Austintown. She leaves seven grandchildren, Michelle (Dan) O’Brien, Angela (Jim)Stille, Karen (Brian) Sanderson, Wendy (Bob) Moffett, Tom (Stacey) Olesky, Ted (Jamie) Dellesky and Carrie (Dane Yacco) Dellesky. Her eleven great grandchildren include Michael Conkey, Ian O’Brien, Andrew Stille, Garrett and Mason Moffett, Mackenzie, Tom and Christina Olesky, and Parker, Carson and Lucas Dellesky, and several nieces, nephews, and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ted Jr. and sisters Ann Jenosevich and Rose Row.
Viewing will be held at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, Cornersburg, on Monday November 14, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. with services immediately following.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Inn at Christine Valley for their excellent care and support of Mary, especially during her last weeks of life.
