Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10:00am at Christ the Good Shepherd-St. Rose De Lima Church for Antonia Caraballo, who passed away on April 22, 2018.
Antonia was born November 12, 1933, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, daughter of Moncerate Martinez and Luisa Rivera, who came to Youngstown in 1953. She was a student nurse in Puerto Rico in her early years and was a member of O.C.C.H.A. where she was a founder of Jovenes Del Pasado and Sons of Borinquen Ladies Society, and was also a past mother of the year. She also enjoyed having cookouts at her home with family.
Surviving are two sons, Ismael (Diane) Caraballo Jr of Boardman, Joseph (Lucy) John Caraballo of New Middletown, two daughters, Marta Caraballo of Tampa, Florida and Lisette (Robert) Morales of Canfield. A brother; Ciro Martinez, sister Rosa Linda Belber and Sofia Torres, Six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Vivian Caraballo, her husband, Ismael Caraballo, whom she married April 11, 1953, sisters Nilda Pagan, Helen Cuevas, Angela Martinez and Emma Caraballo, and brothers, Jorge Martinez and Ralph Martinez.
Friends will be received on Thursday, April 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., Youngstown, and again on Friday, April 27th from 9am to 10am at Christ the Good Shepherd-St. Rose De Lima Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, OH 44405.
