John Michael Miklandric

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 30th at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Apostles- Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Church for John Miklandric, who passed away peacefully after a long illness early Sunday morning October 22, 2017.
He graduated Ursuline High School in 1957. He was an Army Veteran who served overseas in the Military Police. He later became a businessman working at Eastern Ohio Sales as a manufacture’s sales representative. He then went on to become the product and sales manager for the Dunham Busch Corporation. In his early 40s he attended seminary at the College of Stubenville for the study of the Old and New Testament. He was also trained for the ministry by Grace Presbytery in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He later founded and pastored Waynesboro Covenant Church in Virginia. He served as the President of the Waynesboro Ministerial Association and sat as chairman of the board of the Staunton Virginia Pregnancy Center. He went on to become an associate pastor and marriage counselor for All Nations Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. After he retired he rejoined the Catholic Church and was a member of Saint Matthews in Charlotte, North Carolina.
John is survived by his wife, Carol Saffron, whom he married October 20, 1962. He is also survived by: their two children, Johnna (William) Lowery, and Stephen (Kimberly) Miklandric, 5 grandchildren: Zachary Curry and spouse, Courtney Curry, Olivia Lowery, Joshua Miklandric, Benjamin Lowery and Shannon Miklandric; and 2 siblings: William Miklandric and James Miklandric. John also leaves nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine McLandric; brother, Nicholas Miklandric and sister, Catherine Miklandric.
John was a committed servant of the Lord who ministered to many, even his caretakers, up to his death. His presence, his humor, and his guidance will continue to be remembered and celebrated by his loved ones.
Friends will be received Sunday, October 29th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., Youngstown, Ohio and Monday, October 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
