Joseph (Joe) Hudak of Youngstown, passed away on January 2, 2019, peacefully in his sleep. Joe was born to Joseph Hudak and Anna Hudak on October 31, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio. Joe graduated from Wilson High School after which he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the end of World War II in Guam. Joe retired from both the Youngstown (Ohio) Police Department, where he was a police officer, as well as, the Youngstown Hospital Association, where he was a security guard at Northside Hospital. He was married to Margaret (Koly) Hudak in 1952. Joe has joined his wife of 66 years, who passed away on October 25, 2018. He is survived by two daughters, Martha of Los Angeles and Christine (David) Puhalla of Austintown; three grandchildren, Airic, Eythan, and Kaelyn; a brother, Bob Hudak of Youngstown; and a sister, Agnes (Bob) Caven of Florida. His sisters, Olga Krupa and Mary Bond predecease him. Joe was famous for keeping his yard manicured in a way that would rival any PGA golf course and is probably already working on setting up a garden. Also, there are a few relatives of Joe who at one time didn't own a cutting board, shelves, or napkin holder that he made. Viewing ceremony will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home located at 3100 Canfield Road in the Cornersburg area of Youngstown, Funeral services will take place at St. Christine's Catholic Church in Youngstown on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 am, with a viewing at St. Christine's beginning at 9:30 am.
