Lawrence J. Marinelli, born June 26, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio passed away November 21st at Hospice of the Valley. Larry was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Class of 1948. He played clarinet in his high school band and was on the track team where he ran the 440 and relays. He was employed by Stambaugh Thompson for 2 years selling power equipment and at Automatic Sprinkler for 11 years as a machinist.He was a member of St. Christine's Church. In 1961, he and his younger brother Tony went into business together and opened Lar-Ton's Restaurant and Lounge, which was a popular spot on Meridian Rd. for 32 years.
Larry enjoyed watching football, fishing on Lake Erie, playing black jack and traveling. He never married. He loved spending time with his nephews and nieces, taking them fishing, boating, snow mobile riding, flying and much more! He loved all the family pets as well, who visited him often. Larry will join his Mother, Mary (Carone) Marinelli, who passed in 1975, his Father, Anthony Marinelli Sr., who passed in 1992, his Sister, Evelyn Marinelli Kennedy, who passed in 1969, and his Brothers, Ralph, who passed in 1969, and Anthony Jr., who passed in 2015. He leaves behind four Nephews, Bob (Pam) Kennedy of North Carolina, Bill (Julie) Kennedy of San Francisco, California, Mike Kennedy of Youngstown and James (Sheila) Marinelli of DelRay Beach, Florida; three Nieces, Lori (Breen) O'Malley of Canfield, Joni (Tony) Elias of Michigan, and Susan Marinelli of Shelby Township, Michigan; Great Nephews, Daniel Kennedy, Andrew Kennedy and Anthony Elias; Great Nieces, Lora Kennedy, Alexa (Pawel) Karbowski; Great-Great Niece Mila Poppy; and many friends. At Larry's request, there will be no calling hours. Per family request, any monetary donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley.
