Mary Craciun

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019  at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church  for Mary Craciun, 90, who passed away on March 10, 2019. Mary was born  in Youngstown, a daughter of John Parasca and Mary Loghin Parasca. She was a 1946 graduate of South High School, worked as a Home Health Care Giver for Helping Hands, and was a member of Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church. She was also a member of the Carmen Silva Ladies Auxiliary; and the Civil Air Patrol during WWII.  Mary was a long time bowler and enjoyed tennis, softball, roller skating and ice skating. Surviving are three sons, Nicholas (Maggie) Craciun of Austintown, Robert (Marguerite) Craciun of Youngstown and John Craciun of New York City; one daughter, Janice (Stephan) Yost of Westport, Connecticut; and four grandchildren, Robert Craciun, Jr., Meredith Craciun, Nicholas Yost and Caroline Yost. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nicholas Craciun, whom she married November 9, 1947; and two brothers John and Bill Parasca. Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 12, 2019  from 4:00 to 7:00pm, with a prayer service at 6:00, at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home in Youngstown, and again on Wednesday, March 13th  from 10:00 to 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Victoria House for their excellent care, and especially Rita Diana, Mary's long-time caregiver, for her loving devotion.
