Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20th at 10:30am at St. Christine's Church for Shirley A Deckant, 90, who passed away on Wednesday, April 12.
She was born January 22, 1927 in Niles, OH, daughter of Rudolph Stein and Alice McCormick Stein.
Shirley was a Registered Nurse and homemaker who loved crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She belonged to St. Christine's Church, and the Catholic Nurses Association.
Surviving are three sons, James (Germaine) Deckant of Columbus, Ohio, Edwin F. (Janice) Deckant of Youngstown, and Kevin (Renie) Deckant of Younsgtown, two daughters, Patricia Lapp of Columbus, Ohio, and Clara (Richard) Hayes of Austintown, a brother Norbert Stein of California and eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin F. Deckant, whom she married April 23, 1949, her parents, two brothers, Jack and Rudy Stein and a sister Mary Alice Kissella.
Friends will be received Thursday, April 20th from 10 to 10:30am at St. Christine's Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
