Diana Marquette Obituary

Austintown -Diana Marquette, 80, fell asleep in the Lord, May 31, 2024. Diana was born August 30, 1943, in Youngstown, a daughter of Kenneth and Jean Evich Marquette. After Chaney High School, she was employed many years as a physical therapist assistant at St. Elizabeth Hospital where her mother, Jean, was also employed.
She was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, the Garden Club, Senior Club, and helped organize the church’s annual, week-long Rummage Sale. She enjoyed playing bocce, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She volunteered at Mill Creek Metroparks Fellows Riverside Gardens gift shop, and at several events at Riverside Gardens. She also modeled clothing for Jos. A. Bank women’s wear.
Diana loved her animals, Max The Dog, and Sasha The Cat, and enjoyed visiting area wineries and St. George Croatian Center with her friends and family. She collected cookbooks and recipes, enjoyed ethnic foods, but preferred pizza nearly every day.
Diana leaves her cousins and caregivers, Arlene (George) Denney and Shirley Moritz;  cousins Bill and Richard Evick, and her many friends at Briarfield Manor.
The family wishes to thank those at Briarfield for their kind care of Diana to ensure she participated in the many social events which she enjoyed, especially performances featuring her favorite singer, Elvis. The family also thanks AKESO for comforting hospice care.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, at Immaculate Heart of Mary where a service will be at 11 a.m. Arrangements are by Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, and internment is in Resurrection Cemetery.
The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Animal Charity Humane Society in Youngstown, and Angels for Animals, Canfield.
