ERNEST ARGERAS

1927 – 2026

Ernest Argeras passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026.  Ernest proudly served as a Merchant Marine and later served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was also a faithful member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church in Youngstown, OH, where his faith and Greek heritage remained an important part of his life.

Above all Ernest loved his family.  He was proud of the life he and his beloved wife Stella built together.  He deeply loved his son George and cherished his daughter in law Audrey as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was also a die-hard Notre Dame fan and always enjoyed cheering on the Fighting Irish.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Argeras and Sophia Sculuca Argeras; his brothers George Argeras and Fotis Argeras; his sisters Harriett Flevaris, Stella Pangadakis, and Helen Argeras Crist; and the love of his live Stella Argeras.

Ernest and Stella shared an incredible 77 years of marriage, building a lifetime of memories and a family they loved deeply.  Their love and devotion to one another remained at the heart of their family throughout their lives.

Ernest leaves behind his son, George (Audrey) Argeras; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Danielle), Alexander and Cassandra; and his great-grandchildren, Mila, Liam, and Silas, who brought him tremendous happiness and joy.

Ernest will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  His strength, his faith, his love for his family, and the memories shared with him will live on through the generations that follow.

May his memory be eternal.
