Guy D. Rainey, 73 of Austintown passed away Saturday, April 19th surrounded by the loves of his life, his wife, children, grandchildren and lifelong friends and family. 

Guy was born in New Castle, PA on August 14th 1951, the son of the late Alma (Schepp) Rainey and the late Samuel J. Rainey Sr both of New Castle, Pa. 

He married the former Kathy Constas on December 28th 1972. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. 

 Also surviving are his children, Kristie McCollins of Poland, Ohio and Dan Rainey (Lisa Montwori) of Worthington, Ohio, grandchildren Jordan Coy (Dr. Shelby Rohr) of Ashland and Hunter McCollins of Massillon, Ohio..2 brothers, Samuel J Rainey Jr (Amalia) and Anthony R Rainey (Maria) both of Las Vegas, NV, brother in law James Constas (Karen) of Poland, Ohio, and sister in law Shirley Constas of Boynton Beach, Florida, a beloved Aunt Betty Natale (Robert) of New Castle, Pa and nieces Camille Rainey, Danielle Rainey Honer (Pete), Tabitha Rainey-Pullara (Mario) of Jacksonville, FL, Kelly Todd, Emily Rainey-Link (Nick) all of Los Angeles and nephew David Constas of Kyoto, Japan. He is proceeded in death by his Mother Alma and Father Samuel. 

He graduated from New Castle High School in 1968 and attended Youngstown State University, his major was business. 

He worked for Packaging Corp of America in Youngstown, until he was transferred to the Ashland, Ohio plant where he worked as a foreman in 1984. Then started Rainey’s Landscaping in Ashland, which he oversaw until he retired in 2016. 

Guy lived for his children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching Jordan and Hunter in their sporting events. He loved playing cards with Hunter, loved to go to casinos, and watched every sport imaginable from Football to Golf. He collected baseball cards and for a while owned the Ashland Baseball Card Shop. He enjoyed playing golf and his golf trips to Myrtle Beach, SC. He also had a love for music, and enjoyed introducing different genres to his children, including Reggae, and Old Motown. Though suffering and health problems that took over his life in recent years, he found solace in a song with the lyrics “ I know one day/we will see the other side/the pain will wash away/in a holy water tide/ and we’re all gonna be alright.” 

Guy is going to missed by all who knew and loved him with his bright blue eyes and the smile he carried for everyone.  Services are being prepared by Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home 3100 Canfield Rd
