Hope Lynn Young

AUSTINTOWN

Hope Lynn Young (Noday), 76, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024 at Hospice of the Valley, where she received compassionate care from the doctors and nurses.

Born on February 4, 1948, in Youngstown, Ohio, Hope was surrounded by the love and support of her parents, Fred and Georgia (Birdie) Noday Sr. Growing up in a close-knit family, she graduated from Chaney High School in 1967 and went on to create a life filled with love, family, and community in Austintown, Ohio. Hope worked as a cashier at Young’s Family Market in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, for 20 years, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

When she was younger, she enjoyed bowling with her girlfriends, badminton and tennis with her husband.  Her greatest passion was celebrating birthdays and making birthday cakes from scratch for her daughter, grandchildren and husband. She always took pride in her appearance. She loved shopping for purses and shoes with her daughter and girlfriends. Hope did not have a mean bone in her body and never complained.  

Hope's greatest joy in life was her family. She was the loving wife of Leonard (Lenny) Young for 55 wonderful years. Together, they raised their daughter, Lori Young who was the love of her life. Affectionately known as “Mimi” by her grandchildren, John (Abigail) Arnott and Jessica Arnott (Jarod Donchess), Hope cherished every moment spent with them, always present at their events and ready to share in their joys.

Hope's passions were simple yet meaningful. She found peace and happiness sitting on her porch, surrounded by nature’s beauty, while reading a good book. Her talents in the kitchen, especially her baking and cooking, will be remembered and treasured by her family for years to come.

Hope is survived by her two brothers, Fred (Susan) Noday Jr. and Rick (Teddi) Noday, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all.

Family and friends may pay their respects to Hope on January 2, 2025 at Saint Joseph’s Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, Ohio, from 12-1 calling hours. A mass in her memory will follow.at 1:00p.m.
