John C. Bacani
1958-2025
YOUNGSTOWN
John C. Bacani 67 passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2025 surrounded by family and his beloved dogs Sadie and Cooper.
John was born on August 12, 1958 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Joseph E Bacani and Marie (Janoso) Bacani. He is also proceeded in death by his brother Robert Bacani and his sister, Mary Beth Bacani.
John is survived by his sister Monica Bacani of Columbus, Ohio, and his brother Joe M. Bacani of Bloomfield Township Michigan as well as nieces, Jenny, Becky, Amanda, and Angie. He is also survived by his longtime friend and companion Kelly Peachock.
After graduating from Chaney High School, John served in the US Navy from 1976 to 1979 aboard the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier.
Following his military service John was drawn to the food service industry and worked for over 30 years at various facilities, overseeing banquet events, food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen staff responsibilities. Facilities included The Saxon Club, Croatian Home, Our Lady of Lebanon Shrine, Grace Wood Senior Living Niles Ohio.
John also had a passion for his flower gardens and maintaining his yard. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and liked to do puzzles. He was also a man who loved his sweets.
John was a gentle soul that was loved by so many that knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Calling hours will be from 10-11am on Friday May 9th at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 421 Covington St. Youngstown 44510, with a mass of Christian burial to follow at 11am. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
