Karen Stephan Obituary

In Loving Memory of Karen Mae Stephan (Miller)

September 16, 1946 – July 24, 2025

Karen Mae Stephan (Miller), age 78, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Born on September 16, 1946, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, Karen was preceded in death by her beloved father, Robert F. Miller; mother, Bethel M. Mertens; brother, Paul K. Miller; and husband, Frank Stephan.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tammy Price; son, Paul Price; and stepson, Shane Stephan.

Her legacy lives on through her ten grandchildren, and her many great- and great-great-grandchildren — each blessed by her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Bobbie Jean Camaratta, and sister-in-law, Dawn Miller.

Karen will be forever remembered for her boundless generosity, radiant spirit, and steadfast dedication to making the world a better place. Whether offering a helping hand to a neighbor or opening her home and heart to animals in need, she gave selflessly and wholeheartedly. Her compassion extended to all living things. From the tender care she gave her garden to the comforting scent of her homemade bread and sweet treats, Karen nurtured those around her with quiet grace and affection.

Her adventurous heart led her to explore nearly every state in the country, hand in hand with her cherished husband, Frank. Their journey together was one of laughter, respect, and shared wonder — a lifetime of memories built on love, discovery, and deep connection.

Karen found her greatest joy in the company of family and friends. She was a firm believer in the power of perseverance, often reminding others, “If I can do it, so can you.” Her strength in the face of adversity and her joy in others’ successes left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Karen will remember her as a woman of remarkable kindness, fierce courage, and a heart as generous as it was gentle. Her memory is a light that will continue to shine in the lives of those she touched.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing.
