Margaret Williams Obituary

Margaret Ann (Margie) Williams
May 26, 1946 – January 14, 2025

Margaret Ann (Margie) Williams was born on May 26, 1946, to the late John and Margaret Vargo. A proud graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, class of 1964, Margie furthered her education at St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, where she became a Registered Nurse. Over the course of her 35-year career, she devoted herself to caring for others, selflessly serving patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and home health care facilities.

In 1966, Margie met the love of her life, Thomas Williams, and they were married on December 26, 1967. Their 57 years of marriage were marked by unwavering love, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to family. Together, they raised four children: Tom (Diedre) Williams of Winchester, Virginia, John Williams, Mary (Ernie) Ramhoff, and Cindy Glenn, all of Austintown, OH.

Margie’s family meant the world to her, and she found immeasurable joy in being a grandmother. She cherished her six grandsons—Vincent and Kevin Gueterez, Ernie (Shayla), Trevor (Ashley), Kyle, and Devin Ramhoff of Austintown; her two granddaughters, Lexi and Tori Williams of Winchester, Virginia–and her great-grandchild, Aikka Fraizer. The time she spent with them was filled with laughter, love, and countless unforgettable memories.

In addition to her family, Margie had many passions that filled her life with joy. She was an exceptional baker, known for creating delicious treats that brought comfort and warmth to all who enjoyed them. Margie also had a gift for sewing, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected her meticulous care and creativity. When she wasn’t busy in the kitchen or working on a project, Margie loved to travel, exploring new places and making memories with her family.

Her faith was at the center of everything she did. A devout Catholic, Margie dedicated much of her life to St. Joseph Parish in Austintown, OH. Every morning, before starting her day, Margie and Tom would sit together with a cup of coffee and read the Bible. This simple yet powerful ritual was a testament to her deep faith and devotion, as she always put God first in her life. Margie’s unwavering belief in God, her kindness, humility, and compassion made her the closest thing to an angel anyone could know.

At home, surrounded by her immediate family, and after a long and courageous battle with cancer—defying the odds time and time again—Margie peacefully moved into what she lovingly called her “Heavenly Mansion” on Tuesday, January 14, 2024. She faced every challenge with remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and a sense of humor that could brighten the darkest days. Margie’s courage and resilience in the face of adversity were nothing short of inspiring, and her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Vargo; her sister, Sister Mary Delores Vargo, SND; her brother, John Vargo; and three grandsons: Charles Gueterez, Bryce Ramhoff, and Tommy Williams. Although her physical presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
