Sophie Gagasoulis, 95, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024 at Windsor House  St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center.
Sophie was born on February 10, 1929 in Siatista Macedonia, Greece the daughter of Nikos Kavouras and Helen Teliov.  Sophie came to America in 1948.
She worked as a code inspector for Weatherbee Coat Factory for 25 years retiring in 1991.
Sophie married the love of her life, Anthony Gagasoulis on August 22,1948 and together celebrated 64 years of marriage until Anthony’s passing on April 12, 2012.
Together they had one daughter, Christine (Steve) Kopkash of Poland.  Sophie also leaves behind 2 grandsons Steve (Leslie) of Poland, Ohio, Anthony of Arizona and 5 great grandchildren, Samantha, Stevie, Brooklyn, Sienna and Jaxson.  She also has 2 sisters in Greece, Anna and Katina.  Sophie was proceeded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Private services were held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Youngstown.
Arrangements were handled by Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home.
