1944-2026
Thomas M. Matun, 81, passed away on Sunday, April 12.
He was born on May 9, 1944, in Youngstown, Ohio to Paul and Anna Matun.
After graduating from Campbell Memorial High School, he spent most of his work years as a die maker at the General Motors Fabricating Plant in Lordstown, Ohio.
A true and loyal friend to all, he will be remembered for his kind heart and his endless love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Karen Matun, three children Debra Bish (Anthony), Thomas Matun Jr. and Michelle Garbera (Michael) and his six grandchildren Anna, Nicholas, Molly, Matthew, Natalie and Rachel.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers Michael (Ida), John (Amy), Joseph (Anne) and two sisters Catherine Spelich (Matthew) and Mary Ann Valley (Tom) and three brothers-in-law Ronald Johnson, Jack Johnson (Dorothy), and Ray Johnson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, 11:00am at St. Mary Magdalene Parish, St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
