Thomas Syrianoudis Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Syrianoudis, 89, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Youngstown, Ohio with his loved ones by his side. Born on February 14, 1937, in Youngstown, Tom lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to his family, friends, and community.

Tom worked at GM Lordstown for 33 years, retiring in 2000. During his time there, he formed many lifelong friendships that he cherished deeply. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering while at GM.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Tom served his country from 1960 to 1966 and rose to the rank of Specialist Class 4. His sense of duty and commitment extended beyond his military service into every aspect of his life.

Tom was a man of faith and a devoted lifetime member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. He found joy in volunteering annually at the church’s Greek Summerfest and was steadfast in his belief in our Lord Jesus Christ.

In addition to his professional and spiritual pursuits, Tom had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies and passions. An avid golfer who achieved the remarkable feat of three hole-in-ones, he also enjoyed crafting custom golf clubs. Bowling brought him great joy as well, as did listening to jazz music and spending winters with his wife in Myrtle Beach. A voracious reader and loyal fan of Cleveland sports teams, Tom embraced life with enthusiasm and warmth.

Above all else, Tom treasured his family. He is survived by Jackie Syrianoudis, his beloved wife of 62 years; his sister Virginia Morris; brother-in-law Leroy (Bud)McLure; daughters Laura Catullo, Kim Zolnier, Christine (John) Pitlik; son George (Beth) Syrianoudis; grandchildren Charolette Syrianoudis; Nick (Marcia) Syrianoudis; Alex (Katerina) Syrianoudis; Christian Syrianoudis; Del Syrianoudis; Colin Syrianoudis; Thomas Pitlik; Julia Pitlik; Donny Syrianoudis; Arthur Syrianoudis; and great-grandchildren Terrance, Ariel, Zayden, Grayson, Lydia, Leonidas, Rose, Alexander, and Aliyah; nephew John Morris, and niece Lisa Morris.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Constantina Syrianoudis; brother George Syrianoudis; son-in-law Jon Zolnier; and nephew Tommy Syrianoudis.

Tom’s kindness touched everyone who met him. He had an extraordinary ability to make those around him feel like they were his best friend. His selflessness and easygoing nature left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends.
