WILLIAM J. CHISMAR
1928-2025
After a long and wonderful life, William J. Chismar passed away at on 6/30/25 home at the age of 96. Bill, as he was known, was born and raised in Youngstown, OH to William and Mary Maurer Chismar on 11/21/1928 in Youngstown OH and was proud to have grown up in Smoky Hollow.
He graduated from Rayen High School,
He was in the Air Force from 1948-1952
He worked for over 40 years at General Fireproofing Company
After retiring from GF Company he worked at The Health Food Store for over 10 years
He was a member of St Joseph Parrish in Austintown where he was a head usher, member of the Men’s Club and member of The Knights of Columbus
He married Mariann Watters Chismar on June 23, 1956 and shared 64 years of marriage before her passing on July 2, 2020. Together they raised three daughters, Kathleen, Patricia and Lori. While raising his daughters he was very active at St. Joseph Church in Austintown, OH where he and his wife were founding members.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughters Kathleen (Robert) Osiniak, Melbourne, FL; Patricia (Anthony) Caizza, Palm Coast, FL and Lori Terlecki and partner Thomas Schmidt, Mulberry, FL. Granddaughter Amanda Caizza (Steve) Folkers and grandson Ryan Osiniak. Great Grandson, Luke Anthony Folkers. Brothers: Michael Chismar, Zanesville, OH; sister-in-law Betty Chismar, Boardman, OH; Edward Chismar, Poland, OH. along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Andrew) Stolar, John Watters: brothers, Anthony M. Chismar, Sr, Joseph J. Chismar; sister, Mary Pauline Chismar Kral sister-in-laws, Barbara Chismar, Nancy Chismar and Janie Chismar, Barbara Foisel Kulhman; nephews, Edward Chismar and Edward Delbrugge; nieces Nancy and Tammy Kral.

The family would like to thank his nieces Jay, Barb and Caregivers Chris, Gloria, Kathy, Andrea, Charelle, Sharon and Tammy Petrosky.
Service: July 18 at St Joseph Parish, 4545 New Rd, Austintown, OH. Calling hours 10:00-11:00, mass at 11:00.
Donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
