Jack E Magoulakis

Jack E Magoulakis passed away at the age of 89 on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Harbour Senior Living. Jack was born on April 2, 1927, son of the late Emmanuel and Stamatia (Charnas) Magoulakis and was the youngest of three children.
Jack was a lifelong resident of Youngstown, hardworking and dedicated to his family. His home was always open to family and friends. As a Veteran, Jack had served in Germany during WWII. Upon his return, he worked as the proprietor of Mahoning Meat Co. along side his father.
Jack married the former Pauline Pandel on March 8, 1958. He was the loving father of 4 children and was very happy to have seen the arrival of 4 grandchildren. Jack enjoyed tinkering with his projects both inside and out in his garage. He was an avid reader who enjoyed sharing his knowledge of health and nutrition. His favorite place to be was outside on a warm day. Most of all, Jack will be remembered for his mild manner, sense of humor and his generous nature. Jack was an active member of Pan-Ikarian Brotherhood of America having always been proud of his Greek, Ikarian heritage. He was also a member of St. John Greek Orthodox Church and the Mantle Club.
Jack is survived by his four children; Emmanouel (Valerie) Magoulakis, Stacey (Matt) Mrazik, Theodora Magoulakis and Christine (Greg) Massa. Four grandchildren; Zack Mrazik, Rachel Mrazik, Maia Magoulakis and Ava Massa and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack was sadly preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, parents and two sisters; Vaselia Vassilaros, of Athens, Greece and Evangeline Lardas of Pittsburgh. Jack will be greatly missed by his family and friends. May his memory be eternal.
Friends will be received on Thursday, April 14th from 4 to 7 pm at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, Inc. A Trisagion service will be held at 6:00pm. Friends will also be received from 10:30 to 11:00am on Friday, April 15th immediately followed by the Funeral at 11:00am at St. John Greek Orthodox Church; 4955 Glenwood Ave, Boardman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pan-Ikarian Scholarship fund
