YOUNGSTOWN - A memorial services will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home for W. Glenn Daley, 64, who passed away unexpectedly.
Glenn was born on Nov. 19, 1950, in Cleveland, a son of William M. and Dolores (Salick) Daley. He moved to the west side of Youngstown in his youth and lived there until his death.
He graduated from Chaney High School in 1968, where he played football. After graduation he went to work for Republic Steel/LTV for 33 years until their closing.
Glenn played for the first Youngstown Hardhats football team. He also worked the sidelines at the Youngstown State University football games for many years.
He was a big supporter of the West Side Patriots football league from their start and coached for many years. He also coached Pony League Baseball at Mill Creek.
Glenn belonged to various clubs in the area including the AUP Club, where he also bartended for many years.
He loved going to local high school football games and would try to pick the best match up every week.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Kevin (Darlene) Daley of Youngstown and Jim (Jill) Daley of Boardman; two sisters, Kathy D’Angelo of Canfield and Diane McGuire of Texas. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Fred D’Angelo.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road in Youngstown.
