Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29th at 11:00am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for Sophia (Sue) Mae Ladas, 76, who passed away on Friday, January 22nd at Hospice House.
She was born April 12, 1939 in Spokane, Washington, daughter of William and Evelyn Angilus Savas.
Sophia grew up in Haugen, Montana before moving to Spokane, Washington where she met her husband, became a military wife, moved to several states and settled in Youngstown, OH. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by a son; Jim Ladas of Washington State, two daughters; Joy Kish and Julie (John) Beshara, both of Boardman, two nieces; Linda (Steve) Boom and Diana (Don) Henke of Spokane, Washington, 8 grandchildren; Desiree Gabriel, Christen (Anthony) Kladitis, Lindsay (Tony) Velez, Carolyn Ladas, Nicholas Ladas, Stephanie Joaquin,Taylor Beshara, Emily Beshara; and two great-grandchildren, Isabella Kladitis, and Carmen Kladitis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband who passed away January 21, 2016, whom she married March 5, 1964, sisters Dena Wagner, Dorothy Montgomery and a brother Dan Savas.
Friends will be received Thursday, January 28th from 4 to 7pm at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., in Youngstown, with a Trisagion service at 6:30, and on Friday, January 29th visitation at 10:30 service at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
The family would like to thank Hospice and her caregivers Irene, Raquel, and Carol.
