We mourn our beloved Aunt Susie who passed away this past Friday with her husband Chris passing on Wednesday.

She was our mom's little sis - the baby of the Savas family. Her father died when she was very young and she was raised by a very sturdy Greek mama who spoke rough English and braved the world. She came to stay each year through our adult lives because she missed Spokane. A proud NC grad. Little sister of Dena, Dan and my mother, Dorothy.

She laughed at us as teenagers dancing and tried to explain to us not to pull on our eyes at 13 putting on newly found mascara so we wouldn't get eye wrinkles when we were old (I should have listened!). We taught her dancing to Ozzie Osborne's Masters of Reality (thanks Kim). She was there and cried with us through some very heartbreaking, tough times. Always there if we needed our Aunt Susie.

I was 4 years old this day of her wedding but I knew then and clearly remember how beautiful she was - even then as a child. She smelled so wonderful back then of amazing perfume. The kind a lovely woman would wear and that lovely scent you remember her by.

A few days before her wedding, she and I did wedding errands in her VW bug. Linda was sick with measles. I still remember standing up in the front of the car holding the box handle laughing as we drove around. So much for car seats and seat belts - those were the good old days!

She called Linda and me her "little kouklas" which in Greek means "little dolls".

Sue was one of those special people in your life that was always so thrilled to see you! So happy to come home. Loved us dearly.

Our hearts are broken as dear Sue is the last of the Savas family to leave us.

May God bless you Aunt Susie and dear sweet Chris.

We love you.
